Chink, Chink!

In case you didn't realise it, that noise is the sound of glasses touching eachother's glassy sides in celebration. Yesterday was the 6th July - the end of the consultation period for our Save Combs School campaign. YEE-HAH!!!!! For those of you who knew me BC (Before Campaign)I was a happily contributing member of the Purplecoo family. It all went horribly wrong about the 9th May and I have been glued to my computer for 12 hours plus a day ever since - but not blogging! It has been the most exhausting of processes - all the more so because of the feeling that we should never have been put in this position in the first place. Still, I am not going to talk about the school here. Have had enough for now. We have reached the end of the first part of the process, which is the reason to celebrate. We now have to wait with baited breath till early September for the decision. If it is negative we then have to decide whether or not to go to judicial review. Very expensive. For now, all I can say, is that we have left no stone unturned, done everything we could. It may or may not be good enough.

So I just wanted to say a little hello again. I have not had a chance to look at anyone's blogs yet, or indeed write one on my own slot. So I am very very far behind with all your lives and have to accept that I cannot possibly catch up. I will simply pick up from here. That said, I have spent so much time in front of the computer for the last 2 months that I am going to prioritise the house and garden and family - so I still may not be around all that much. It is also the school holidays now for one daughter and we have a French friend with us. But I promise to do my best to pop in and out and catch up with you all a bit before we go away in August.

Do hope you've all been behaving and that there have not been too many dramas. I feel like the old girl coming back to visit the school!

Be gentle with me...

Hi you - good to see you popping in and well done with your school campaign - fingers crossed.

We are launching the new site tonight - if we can get everything finished - so although I know you won't be around much I hope you get a chance to at least register on the new site . . . that way you won't pop in on CCW and find we have moved - although there will be a forwarding address.

As I'm relatively new on the purple-coo I'm still getting to know you all and I've just read back on your blog about school closure. Your village school is supposed to close? That's awful. I hope to be able to find out more about it, my daughter goes to a wonderful village school and I would be devastated if this happened to us. Please excuse my ignorance if I've got this wrong.

There are things that are much more important than blogging/reading other blogs. You have done really well. I hope it pays off in September. Now enjoy the bit of summer weather we are having today and get out in the garden!
