Bye Bye Old School

Just came back to the old place - you know the pink palace. Our first little school where we landed and all played happily together. Look, the tumbleweed is blowing about the yard and there are cobwebs already hanging from the ceiling. If Matron saw those.......Thought I'd scrawl
something on the wall, or in an exercise book, you know, a last time in this place. It's like a shell, I suppose, or one of those carapace things that you grow out of - if you are an insect teenager that is. Oh well, we had a lot of laughs here. A lot of parties. And it's sad to be leaving, but there we are. The trunks are all packed, the furniture shipped, just a few bins remain and a skip or two. Yes, there's a broken avatar - at least I think that's what it is.

The grass is growing round the old school now, on the playing fields where we had the fete and erected the marquee. And in this cupboard, yes - this is where we had an illicit still. Wow, we were wild in those days. There's a newspaper on the floor - April 21st 2007. So long ago now, so long ago. Back in the dead green duck days. Yes, and there's the naughty corner where headmistress used to put us when we said silly things or were rude, stamped our feet or ran off with the firemen. Well, who would stand there now? There's a hole in the roof, the water is dripping in....splish, splash. Perhaps that's why we all moved on.

So bye-bye old school. Close your eyes and you can still hear the laughter.

Omg - this really made me cry . . .

So I have decided we will not abandon the old Skool - we will get it all sorted out and turn it into a Museum for Purplecoo . . .and once maybe twice a year we will have skool trip here and fill the corridors with laughter again . . . and in between times it will be here for people to visit when they want to know how our skool came into being . . .

Once maybe twice a year - we will all come over here - unfreeze the posts which will be frozen on Satuday evening and then we can all go mad and run around the skool and post and comment. Meanwhile I will make sure that we come over on a regular basis and keep the grounds looking nice and will get the leak fixed and any other problems that occur.

Oh, I'm glad the old school isn't going to be abandonded. I can remember when I was the new girl and everyone welcomed me. I felt so happy!
It will be great to have a school trip, too!

And, dare I say it, the corridors in this old place were much easier to navigate. I haven't figured out all the new department buildings yet!

    Hello Fennie,
That is so wonderful what you have just wrote, it did make me a bit tear-stained, and I gulped when I read it, Thank you Fennie for putting this up.
