Weed Pull Of Remembrance with Blossom


Missed you all yesterday - was off at East Kilbride doing the sound for Happy Jack in the One Act Play Festival. Happy Snaper did the lighting. Will blog about it over the weekend. So apologies for not having read or commented on any one's blog - see feeling guilty and now have to go and get one of CessPit Cottages ready for unsuspecting guests!

One thing that stood out for me when I got back - was of course all the support that Blossom has received - But then again we would expect no less from everyone at PurpleCoo would we . . . cos that is what this site is all about . . . .support tears and much laughter . . . and Maidofkent going out and having a weed pull of remembrance . . . . .what a truly inspired idea. Blossom - perhaps you would like to suggest a date and time and we can all have a weed pull of remembrance with you. What do you lot think?

    I'm off to do just that right now: I thought I would have a weeding session and then a little bonfire for Lesley

    Good for you - but save a couple so that we can all pull a weed up together with Blossom - bit like a two minute silence except much weed pulling and lots of berludy cursing. . . . .

    There is a memorial service for Lesley on Friday at the village church she was a member of the Portsmouth Festival Choir, and they will all be there at 12noon taking the roof off the church in her memory, I have no doubt that weeds throughout the land will be leaping in the air with sound so it would seem like a good time to grab them. I will pull some weeds for her and all those in the same situation when I return home at teatime say 4pm, when hopefully they will be very loose in the ground. Thank you all once again for your brilliant support.

    Excellent idea! But csn you all come here I have so many weeds and only one good pulling arm!

    I'll do it for Blossom and her memory of Lesley, but also
    I'll being pulling weeds for my cousin's husband who also died this week after a long hard battle with cancer at only 61.I won't be able to get to the funeral in Peterborough so pulling up weeds is the next best thing I think. He leaves a behind his wife Debbie, my cousin, and his 14 yr old daughter. Terribly sad to lose your dad when you are so young.

    I will be pulling for him as well, and for all those people who's life is cut short by this vile disease, get enough of us pulling and we could put Weedol out of business.

    That's 8 a.m. my time so that works over here too as it is light be 5. I'll be out there pulling the (many and varied!) weeds for Blossom's Lesley, my friend Dava and all the others.

    I will be there too and if anyone can't make it physically then perhaps you can do it mentally . . . .and we can include everyone that has lost someone and also for all those we know who are curently fighting a life threatening illness.

    Friday 18th May

    This is now, officially, Friends Rememberence Day.

    Dont just put it in your diaries- write and tell your paper about it and why it is so. Email all your friends and tell them.

    When I was out weeding today I just had a sudden picture of Brenda being there to greet Lesley and take her under her wing. Not normally given to such fanciful thoughts (very un-grouse-like) but the image just made me feel so happy, thought I'd share it with you.
