On the other side they are getting a link so they will know who is online. Can we have one of these as well? Please....

    I am signed in all day but not necessarily at the computer. I think messanger tells you though if someone is not active for a while assuming they have gone off somewhere and therefore my not answer regardless of whether they are connected or not..

    we'll probably be incorporating a chat facility (which will tell you who's online) on the proposed site that will do exactly that but, as it stands, the wheel is still being invented and has reached the oval stage.

    I dont think CL intend a chat facility, I think what's planned is common on many message boards, and that is simply an area that lists who is currently logged into the website, ie Me, You, UncleTomCobbly, All, Guest and so on, nothing as fancy as messenger, or a chat client. They said it was going to be like GoodHousekeeping, so I looked, and its pretty much as I described. Am I a lurker or silicon? sometimes its hard to tell who is who, and my mirror always lies .

    That sounds like a great idea. When I travel I 'talk' to the kids in the evening. It's a lovely way to stay connected.
