Email addresses on profiles

If I, or anyone else for that matter, want to get in contact with someone for a reason that is nothing to do with either a blog or a comment ( for me it might be to answer a query they haven't realised they need to make), it is very hit and miss to put a comment somewhere in the hope that they'll see it, and a bit too much to put a post on this main page for one small thing that isn't necessarily connected or to do with anyone else.

Although the facility to add an email address to one's profile is available, many people either haven't noticed or have chosen not to do it; for the latter I imagine it's a question of privacy, they don't want their email address available for all to see, and I can quite understand that. But for those who don't realise the option's there, it's when you Edit your profile, there's a box to tick which is Show my email address which brings an email link up on your Profile page.

An ideal solution would be to have some sort of routing system, like there was on the forum at the other place, where you clicked on the Email image and an email was sent without you knowing where it was going to, and I'm looking into that at the moment.

Yes I do agree it can be a bit hit and miss at the moment - although I can always pass on comments, requests etc to people but cannot divulge anyone's email address.

PLEASE NOTE that the new site is well under consrtuction now and we will bear this problem in mind.

There is a solution, by using an online free email service, such as Inbox.com - still looking into it.

Thanks for your efforts - let us know what you find and we will see if we can do something similar on the new site!

You folks just keep on, keeping on the trail that leads this site to even more glory.
You are making me feel guilty for not having time to help sort this out. I am sure that I know people, who know people who could do anything we would like.
I do mean all good things, and know that you did not think otherwise.
If ever my crazed schedule relents (i.e. the shop doesn't sell anything that anyone wants to buy) I will reconnect with you and see what can be done.

Thank you to all you computer savants who are making it so easy for us to communicate! I wish I could contribute but am as dumb as a door about the ins and outs of the internet. Eternally grateful, Pondside

Or, like I did, just make up an email address you only use for this site. THEN,if you're thick like me, always forget, and just use your original email address when you contact people anyway.......

Now what is wrong with the traditional carrier piegon I would like to know? Surely extremely environemtally friendly and if you don't like the message it brings you can always make it into a pie and eat it!!

I am having difficulty writing my own comment (like mini-blog) on CHILDREN CHOCOLATE & WINE PAGE. I can answer comments on this page of others though. Did manage to do this once, but being batty I have completely forgot how to.
